As this site will wind down in December we need to make sure we do not lose anything. I think we have copies of all of the photos, but not of the comments on the photos. Those are valuable as they usually provide new info such as the names of people in the photos. Any thoughts how we might handle this?
Hi John--we can try doing screen shots which would encompass the photos and the comments--what do you or others think. Really disappointed in MULTIPLY but I think we all knew it would be a dud at the very beginning, but we had no alternative. Cheers/Bil
ReplyDeleteDo you suppose this group can be migrated to a google group?
ReplyDeleteMonte
Is there such a thing Monte?
ReplyDeleteWe do have the Yahoo JAWS group which is fairly active at times.
ReplyDeleteYes, Bill. Screen shots would be one way of doing it. I wondered if the person(s) who owned the photos might be willing to repost them to, say, the Yahoo site with the new info contained in the comments on their original photos.

ReplyDeleteSometime ago John and I were playing around with Blogger and other groups.I'm impressed with Googles versatility.
Thanks for the comments. We now understand that Multiply will transfer our material to a new site, but after the trouble we have had with them I cannot get very fired about that and will leave it to others to pursue that route. Meanwhile I will make sure that I have copies of the material on this site, along with any comments whiich may have been added. Those of you who are registered on the Yahoo site will see that i have suggested we use it from now on. It is not perfect (nothing is as good as the original MSN site founded by Monte in 2001) but it will serve the purpose of keeping the community in touch. I hope that you will support the Yahoo site by adding material to it.
ReplyDeleteJohn: Agreed, Yahoo will provide the best avenue, I am somewhat suspicious of Yahoo's and other social web sites longevity.
